We have some nice clips from Todd and Ray discussing how their own use of 5-minute workshops began and how their approaches differ, and the ways in which they are finding success at their own institutions. Link available on Web page for this session/event.

Todd: "I started a few years ago on my campus with 5-Minute Workshops' and the response has been wonderful. I have also heard from many others doing the same and the response has been consistently positive.

" the idea came from something my grandfather told me years ago about how the circus would come to town and parade down the main street. Then, they set up camp at the outskirts of town. My guess is they would get a lot LESS traffic to their show if they simply set up on the edge of town and hung up a banner that they were there. The town parade is the perfect example of a teaser.'

- Email 2/12/2007 from Todd Zakrajsek
Director, Faculty Center for Innovative Teaching (FACIT)
Central Michigan University zakra1t@cmich.edu
